Hawaiian Eye Center

As one of Mana Means’ original clients, Hawaiian Eye Center (HEC) is Hawaii’s leader in cataract and glaucoma care. It was founded in 1975 and was one of the first to deliver modern outpatient surgery and high-quality service in eye care. Our goal over the years has been to increase brand awareness for HEC and drive new patients through the door.

What We Did:

  • Focused on creating clear messaging that branded HEC’s doctors, rightfully, as experts in cataract and glaucoma care (and all things eye-related)
  • Embraced testimonial-style advertising for both TV and radio, including one of Hawaii’s oldest radio shows—The Hawaiian Eye Show—hosted by their very own doctors
  • Leveraged added-value opportunities from our ad buys to increase branding for HEC (interviews, advertorials, sponsorships, etc.)
  • Utilized timely and relevant PR opportunities to get coverage for HEC on TV, radio, print and online to further build public knowledge and trust of HEC and its doctors (Honolulu Magazine’s “Top Doctors” and “Most Profitable Businesses,” Hawaii Business’ “Best Places to Work,” etc.)

Results:

The original office operates out of Wahiawa and a second office opened in Waipahu in 2014. HEC has outgrown its current Waipahu location and is expanding at a new location in Kunia Shopping Center in July.

Hawaii Medical College

As Hawaii’s largest locally-owned career college, Hawaii Medical College (HMC) wanted a full-service marketing firm to help them grow their student body. With so many post-high school options for young adults, our goal was to both increase HMC’s brand awareness, as well as to provide solid leads to the Admissions Team on a weekly basis.

 

What We Did:

  • Created messaging and branding that was reflective of the targeted demo and ensured it was appropriate for the Hawaii audience
  • Employed well-researched, strategic online marketing tactics, both paid and organic, across social media and other online platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Spotify, Google, etc.)
  • Worked closely with our Account Representatives across all mediums to ensure the most efficient results and latest opportunities unique to each
  • Tracked our progress as thoroughly as possible with online tracking codes/pixels, lead forms, funnel pages and other tactics
  • Produced and aired TV and radio spots that, again, reflected the target audience
  • Leveraged PR opportunities to get media coverage and help build brand awareness and trust for HMC as a legitimate medical college (Pacific Business News’ “Top Colleges & Universities” and “Fastest 50,” Hawaii Business’ “Most Profitable,” etc.)

Results:

Beginning in 2015 through 2018, Mana Means helped grow the average number of leads and enrolled students per session by over 50 percent.
